My centre hurts and I sobbed like a babe. Into The Dark is dark, cute, and poetic.

Into The Dark is a standalone, dual POV. Dark Romance. As with whatsoever dark romance, I always say read your trigger warnings. There are several. Is this my darkest book? No, only could be someone else's and darkness is subjective to the reader. On my dark calibration, information technology teeters on black. An

Him is a serial killer with his demon by his side hunting his next victim which is always a woman. When he sees a woman named Lyra he is highly intrigued by her, Him needs to know more about her.
Lyra is non the normal woman he seeks out. Him is a completely unhinged sociopath who has always lived an isolated life. Lyra has an obsessive personality, ever but looking for someone to be obsessed with her as much every bit she is obsessed with them. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about her; In the end, I was in beloved with her character.
Both MC completely flawed with traumatic pasts and mental affliction. These two belonged together. Each one understands the other and with no judgment. As much as I love both characters, Him's was something else, to get into his head as to why and talking to his demon.
The author is highly talented, and y'all can tell she wrote this book with her centre and soul. She went into a very deep, dark place with this i. That ending to me was everything and touched my soul. I will remember this book for years to come up.
Into The Nighttime is what I look for in whatever dark romance. Pushed my boundaries and delivered a astounding book. I highly recommend it to all my nighttime romance readers.
Thank yous to Talknerdy2me and Dana Isaly for this arc, in exchange for my honest review. I am securely honored.

"This niggling thing that very much resembles a drowned rat is the first person to take hold of my heart."
and here i was, thinking we'd become ✨ratatouille✨ only no ma'am, it was merely a pet proper name 😍
so instead of living my disney/pixar fantasy i encountered something else:
🐀 serial killer
🐀 obsessive hero & heroine
🐀 pocketknife play
🐀 kinky sexual activity
🐀 abusive past
🐀 pet proper name: piffling rat
me reading the blurb:

"What if you observe someone someday that can handle how hard you fall for them, and it lasts and you're happy for the rest of your life. Who's to say that isn't love, just in a form that works for you?"
a series killer and a needy isolated girl? what could become wrong? 🤪 you can tell it was such an flavory story. it was written beautifully. the more i read the more delighted i was; it was enthralling, raw and sexy.
unfortunately there were two things i wish they were done in a different way: the ending (i completely and utterly get it but the reasons that led to that were almost nonexistent compared to the solutions and alternatives that could've avoided information technology) and i needed more than details almost the h and H's past (also much testify and tell).
HIM & LYRA
"We are a riot of immorality, feeding off each other's sins like wild animals over a impale."
the way i related to lyra 😭 the way i understood him 😭the way he would call her picayune rat 😭 the mode i read this fully invested when i actually go to therapy😭😭😭😭😭
him and lyra were perfect for each other. they were two heartbroken souls who found shelter in each other's arms. unhinged. and i loved them.
and of course we demand to talk near how he calls her: LitLle RaT🥵🤌🏼
bonus because nosotros love a wet footling rat:
"Y'all like that anyone could run across usa right now, don't you lot? Such a little slut, riding my hand in public. Anyone could walk correct past us and see you lot grinding down on me, panting and moaning like the whore you are. "
anywho if you are a masochist like me please requite into the night a take a chance because at the finish of the day we all carry a little rat within the states ♡
ps: thanks to my wifey for not just telling me most this book but too for reading it with me <3
"One time I discover my person, it ends. They go the beginning, middle, and terminate of my story."
i'm kinda disappointed that i didn't cry and i cry to literally anything emotional. my eyes were glassy but the chapters were and then short that i didn't get the full effect. that and the fact that i already figured out what will happen at the end.
its a 200 folio volume but information technology reads longer idk if its considering its heavy or what but it took me the whole day to read, which shocked me.

I'k sorry . I loved this . And that ending . I know I know he was bad but I don't care .
"The happiness I feel for making him proud, making him mine, is all-consuming. I did that. I killed someone for him, and now I have him all to myself. He's giving me everything I've ever wanted. I volition take him for whoever he is every bit long as I can take this every morning time for the rest of my life."
While reading the book I really thought that I've heard that earlier. But idea information technology was all in my caput. So five Stars right? Ah no. The original written by Jaclyn „not all guys" and voiced from vo.Eros. Yeah. The original deserves 10/v stars. But not the copy. 😶
Did I enjoy myself? Not too much.
Is it a Romance? Not by definition.
Do I desire to read more from this writer? Yeah.
iv/5 stars
Those were really the reasons i wanted to read it in the first identify.
Plus that blurb, that encompass called me in a way I can't explain.
I liked information technology, a lot, fifty-fifty if it's not every bit dark as I idea information technology would have been ( at least for me, guess my mind is kinda deviated at this point LOL).

It's an amazing book and the writer made a great job describing the sickness of these characters, the toxicity of this obsession.
So I don't understand why all i felt, after finishing it, was emptiness.
I couldn't connect with the story the fashion I wanted ( and I wanted it and then damn much because this kind of book is exactly what I like the most).
But i didn't feel my heart pounding, i didn't sheer a single tear.
Honestly it confuses the hell out of me. 🙈🙈🙈
And then what i'm saying is that maybe this was not the right time for me to read it simply
I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED it!!
And i'g gonna surely reread it shortly!!

And in her book, she glorified it, repeatedly, in vivid detail. She made information technology seem like the male child really enjoyed it.

To the people that were crying on their stories near the ending of this book: go touch some grass considering I really thought this was going to be IT and it was very underwhelming. Granted, reading is subjective merely still!
This is a dark taboo story well-nigh a couple, not a romance because information technology doesn't have a HEA. Having read the author's disclaimer and trigger warning I was gear up to feed off the toxicity of this couple and the writer definitely delivered the toxicity. He stalks her with the intention of killing her but ends up obsessed with her and that'south how their story begins. I like how he's not likeable at all and the writer does not shy away from how ridiculous he is but rather leans on that and likewise how he'due south not redeemable at all! He isn't morally greyness, he'south downright evil! Also how she is very mentally ill and they're just trauma bonding and finding that something that makes them experience safe enough to share their true selves. While information technology'south non a romance you lot can definitely see how their characters alter due to their human relationship and how they'll do literally annihilation just so they tin can be the center of each other's world. I could appreciate what was conveyed in the story which is why I gave information technology 2 stars but I really didn't care for them every bit individuals or equally a couple.
I'll be honest, I was expecting more steamy scenes that were erotic but unlike in games we play this one didn't do it for me. And believe me, it wasn't the blood that didn't make me enjoy it lol, I just couldn't really see that sexual spark between them.
The ending becomes credible pretty early with all the clues they drop then yeaaah. It didn't do anything for me, peculiarly because I never really continued with the characters. It is a pretty brusque book so it was a fun chilling time read.

I'one thousand at a loss for words... never have I read a dark romance volume like this other than in school with Romeo and Juliet and fifty-fifty though I love the concepts of Shakespear's plays. I typically didn't similar Romeo and Juliet because of their ending and never truly understood the love they had for each other to make them desire to go through all that.
I went in with the mindset that this volume would be like all my typical nighttime romance books, but this was so

I didn't accept high hopes for this volume considering of some other book i read past this writer. but maybe it's just a hit or miss and Dana Isly will continue to surprise me and go one of my favorite nighttime romance authors. thank you lot for such an unsuspected read.
